Scoring HIGH with D.R.EA.M.
“Leap Day” only comes once every four years and what better way to spend that extra day we have in February than to be surrounded by the soothing melodies of jazz and mingling with those in the Financial District in New York City. D.R.E.A.M. (Developing Responsible Economically Advanced Model-Citizens), an educational nonprofit organization which educates underrepresented youth on financial literacy held their Sax Therapy: Live Jazz Social & After Work Mixer to create an atmosphere with a sophisticated twist! Located at the beautiful Glid Hall Hotel, this event created an ambiance of sophistication and prestige.
Being educated about finances in our infancy stage of life will build a foundation as one matures and is able to understand more of what a healthy financial lifestyle can accomplish to achieve ones “DREAM”. This organization founded by Jaleni Thompson and Femi Faoye, is extremely beneficial in providing the underrepresented to become educated and empowered with learning about the finance world and applying the knowledge learned so they can share the wealth of knowledge with others to create a continuing generation of vigilant leaders in obtaining and developing their financial status.
While I of course enjoy “JAZZ” for numerous reasons, I also love being empowered by those in the community building the community. Being that finance is a universal topic this is one of the possibilities that everyone can take with them on their own journey!
