A New Tune for the New Year!
As we close on this year, there’s much to reminisce.
For some it was bliss while others had a lot of twist. Read the rest of this entry
Last week I kept hearing and reading various themes about “WOMEN”. Whether topic focus was about how women should be treated in relationships, tips on dating/marriage, scriptures about women, and my own personal discussions with friends about the new generation of women. With this theme, I had a vision to have a social gathering with a couple of my friends to view BET’s “Black Girls Rock”. I figured such a show would fit the theme that I’ve been hearing about all this week! Read the rest of this entry
Please accept my apology. Everyone has experienced their season in life because along our journey there is a time for everything. There could be a season of profit and a season of loss. A season of emptiness and a season of population. A season of health and a season of sickness. However, through our seasons, it’s up to us to determine who, what, when, where, and how the outcome will become. Will we trust God? Or will we lean on our own understanding? A Leap of Faith
If you could see a clear path to your future, would you follow if everything were leading to success? I hope so. I know I would. Now, what if you couldn’t see where your next steps were going to take you. Would you still follow the path? It’s a question that can make you think the “What if?” “How would I?” “Where would I?” and the list could go on. Read the rest of this entry
When You Believe…
One of the factors that can hinder people from achieving their ultimate greatness is fear. Instead of feeding the mind and soul with FAITH and believing that we can achieve our dreams, we Read the rest of this entry
And the Beat Goes On…
One of my greatest passions is music. I can remember as a child flipping through my favorite radio stations and recording on my cassette player to make a soundtrack of all my favorite hits. My soundtrack would include a mix from Oldies, Pop, R&B, and my Hip-Hop! Of course my biggest challenge during my recording session was to know when to cue the stop button so I wouldn’t get the announcer or commercial. At times, when I missed my cue, I would have to delay my session by rewinding and then trying to find the spot where the interruption came in. Usually I would have to rerecord into the song and do my own announcing! After all, the soundtrack was mine so becoming DJ All that Jazz was appropriate!
Summertime in The Chi!
While it’s great to experience NYC during the summertime, it’s also great to see how Chicago gets down during this time of the year! An impromptu visit allowed me to take a “Chi Town” experience to another level. Perhaps the energy of New York was still in me, because I was greeted with industry peers who were getting ready for the TBS Just 4 Laughs special which kicks off June 12-17 in the loop of the city. Whatever Will Be, Will Be…
With all the hustle and bustle going on in the city, it’s always great to have time to reflect and think about life. In today’s time, we live in a “microwave society”. Microwaves cook our food faster and that’s the pace we are living on our journey. In life, we want our careers, relationships, finances, and other desires, right now. We feel we have to make it to the top first, instead of simply living and embracing every moment we have. Read the rest of this entry
The Law of Numbers
Activities from this week gave me the opportunity to reflect on the possibilities of one’s experiences during their journey. As my adventures to various happenings in the city allowed me to meet a diverse crowd of people who had intriguing stories about their ultimate goals, I started thinking about the course of life. One of my favorite quotes from the movie “Forrest Gump” explains just how mysterious life can be with the unforgettable saying from Forrest which goes, “Life is like a box of chocolates…you never know what you’re gonna get.” Whether in personal or professional endeavors, there are some instances, which may happen in our life that can detour us from pursing our ultimate goal.
